Sandburg Women’s Golf Wraps Up Season as Liles Shoots Career-Low

The Carl Sandburg College women’s golf team closed its spring season with a fourth-place finish at the Viking Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Highland Springs.
Rylee Liles (Hennepin, Ill./Putnam County) shot a career-best 86 in the first round on her way to a tie for 20th place at 179 for the tournament.
Elizabeth Whitford (Dahinda, Ill./Galva) shot 88 on Saturday and finished 28th for the the tournament at 188. Kelli Kennedy (Henry, Ill./Henry-Senachwine) took 30th after shooting 93-98, and Averi Heintzelman shot 98 both days to place 33rd.
Sandburg, the only two-year program in the field, shot a season-low 365 on Saturday and finished at 754 over 36 holes. Host Augustana won the tournament at 652.
Caraline Oakley of Washington University St. Louis was medalist with a two-day total of 154.
